TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS:  Point of outfitting is generally Eagar, Arizona but may vary depending on the unit drawn. 

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS:  These limited entry hunts do not require a deposit until you successfully draw a tag.  In order for you to utilize our licensing and consulting services, though, you will be charged a one-time fee of $100 per license application along with the cost of the non-resident license you are seeking.  Upon successfully drawing a tag, a 50% deposit is required with the balance due 30 days prior to the hunt.  Cancellation policy-all deposits are non-refundable.

 

ELK 04-610          Colorado Flat Tops Wilderness

Northwest Colorado high country pack-in elk hunt.  This is truly a first-class wilderness experience...horseback hunting the grassy slopes, rugged black timber and aspen-filled valleys of the Flat Tops Wilderness!  Horses are utilized extensively, thus eliminating a lot of walking, and a 4-point or better antler restriction assures lots of branch-antlered bulls.  This hunt continues to get better each season and 2003 was another exceptional year for this veteran outfitter!  Archery hunters were 69% successful on 5 and 6 point bulls taken from ground blinds over wallows...shooting opportunities were 92%!!  Five lucky muzzleloaders drew their tags and were 100% successful!!!  This muzzleloader hunt is always 100% successful if you can draw your tag.  Rifle hunters were 98% successful on the first season and 80% successful on the third season!  The second combined rifle season was met with unseasonably hot weather and took its toll on harvesting bulls.  Mule deer can be combined with this hunt, upon successfully drawing a tag.  Mule deer bucks will generally measure in the 20"-24" range.  This outfitters impeccable reputation, along with his professional staff of guides, cooks and wranglers, will ensure that your hunt is truly a memory-of-a-lifetime!!

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS:  50% deposit is required to reserve dates.  Balance is due upon arrival for the hunt in certified funds.  Cancellation policy-cancellation requests must be in writing and received by the outfitter at least 30 days prior to the hunt.  A 50% booking fee will be retained by the outfitter upon any cancellation.

 

ELK 04-615          Colorado Private Land  (Pagosa Springs)

Southwest Colorado private land elk hunts.  9800 acre private ranch south of Pagosa Springs near the New Mexico state line.  This veteran outfitter certainly knows his business and takes some quality bulls from this ranch.  Year after year, rifle hunters consistently harvest 75-80% on four point or better bulls while archery hunters experience virtually 100% shooting and a 30-40% harvest!  2003 was an exceptional year with several above average bulls harvested!  This is one of the best outfitters in the State of Colorado with the experience, the equipment, the expertise and the desire to serve you.

ELK 04-620          Colorado Private Land  (Gunnison)

High country private land elk hunt in western Colorado.  This hard working outfitter hunts 5000 acres of family-owned private land situated in the heart of the Gunnison National Forest.  A four point or better antler restriction on legal bulls has definitely enhanced the quality of game on this ranch.  Most of the good 5 and 6 point bulls taken typically score in the 260-280 B&C range.  2003 was another successful season for this outfitter, who is in his 22nd year of big game outfitting.  Overall shooting opportunities for the '03 season was 90%...actual harvest was 63%!  Mule deer are rebounding on this ranch and can be combined with a rifle hunt.  The second season is generally the best time for a combo hunt.  A perfect cabin setting lets you begin hunting literally when you step out the door.  This is not a trophy bull elk hunt, but it is a highly successful elk hunt with an honest, hard working outfitter that will reward you with a genuine Colorado high country adventure!

ELK 04-630          Colorado "Ranching for Wildlife"

"Ranching for Wildlife" fair chase hunts are one of Colorado's most popular hunts.  With a 90 day season, your choice of weapon and an area known for some of the largest elk herds in North America...no doubt it has become one of the premier elk hunts in the country.  Our veteran outfitter has acquired the archery and muzzleloader hunting rights on an exclusive 8500 acre ranch north of Craig  in northwest Colorado near the Wyoming border.  Bordering the renowned "Three Forks Ranch," this country is just loaded with elk.  Hunters averaged seeing 50-200 elk per day!  Terrain consists of high country oak brush and aspen cover, as well as, lower country sagebrush and rolling hills.  Hunter success was phenomenal during the 2003  season...78% harvest (7 for 9) and 100% shooting opportunities for the bow hunters!!!  If you're looking for a top-quality primitive weapon elk hunt...this is it!

ELK 04-635          Montana Private Land

Trophy archery elk hunt in central Montana on a 15,000 acre private ranch.  Our outfitter is finally successful in acquiring the exclusive archery hunting rights on this top-rated ranch.  This ranch has a long time standing reputation for BIG BULLS...300" to 400" bulls have been seen and/or harvested on this ranch property annually!!  Hunting over watering holes and bugling in bulls has proven to be the most successful hunting methods in past years.  2003 archery hunters were 30% successful...shot opportunities were 100%!  Serious archery hunters, this is an opportunity of a lifetime to harvest a Monster Montana Bull Elk!!!

ELK 04-650          New Mexico Limited Entry  (Valles Caldera National Preserve)

Formerly the Baca Ranch, this 89,000 acre ranch located in Unit 6B was purchased by the US Government in 2000.  The National Preserve continues to be managed as a working ranch, and elk hunting is one of the major divisions.  2002 was the first season elk hunting was allowed under this new structure.  This outfitter is one of only 15 outfitters authorized and licensed on the Valles Caldera.  This is a tough tag to draw and unfortunately this outfitter did not draw any hunters for the '03 season.  Hunters can expect high success and an excellent opportunity to harvest a mature bull in the 300 to 350 B&C class!!  You serious elk hunters...don't miss out on this incredible opportunity at one of the top elk hunts in the West!!!

RATES:  Rifle, bow or muzzleloader...your choice of weapon.  $3500 (1 on 1, 5 days).

ACCOMMODATIONS:  Travel trailer accommodations.  All meals during the hunt are included.

LICENSE COSTS:  Non-resident elk (Valles Caldera)-$481.  All elk licenses for the Valles Caldera will be issued through the New Mexico big game drawing system.  To be eligible to apply for an elk hunt on the VCNP, applicants must first purchase at least one access coupon from the Valles Caldera Trust.  The non-refundable coupon for all Unit 6B tags cost $25 each.  You can increase your odds of drawing a VCNP tag by purchasing additional access coupons.  There is no limit to the number of access coupons you may purchase.  One chance in the drawing will be given for each access coupon purchased.  Application deadline is April 24, 2004.

TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS:  Point of outfitting is the Las Alamos, NM area.  Airport pickup/return in Albuquerque can be arranged.

ELK 04-660          New Mexico Limited Entry  (Valle Vidal)

Trophy elk hunting in northern New Mexico's premier unit!  This majestic limited-entry unit (55) offers the serious trophy hunter one of the most exhilarating elk hunting opportunities available in the Southwest.  Terrain varies from ridges of aspen and dark timber...to open alpine meadows...to deep canyons.  This pristine habitat ranges in elevation from 8000' to over 11,000'.  The 2003 season was, as usual, highly successful with 100% harvest on five and six point bulls!  The biggest bull of the season scored 330 B&C and was taken during the rifle hunt.  If you will be patient and persistent in drawing this coveted tag, you will certainly be rewarded with a first-class trophy elk hunt at an affordable price.

ELK 04-670          New Mexico Private Land  (Chama)

Private ranch elk hunts in north-central New Mexico!  This veteran outfitter has incredible ranches leased which he has the exclusive hunting rights on.  Located in the Chama area, these ranches are absolutely magnificent, remote ranches with incredible elk hunting.  Elevation ranges from 8500' to 10,000'.  The terrain is not that physically demanding, but this is a fair chase elk hunt and the better shape you're in, the better your chances for success.  You can expect virtually 100% shooting opportunities on these ranches at bulls ranging from the 260 - 290 class...with 300+ bulls not uncommon!  Despite the very dry conditions, the 2003 season was another successful one...85% overall harvest!!  Several bulls (6 x 6's or better) over the 300" mark were harvested!!  If you're looking for remote, high country adventure, this is some of New Mexico's best private land elk hunting.  Guaranteed elk permit, NO DRAW for this tag!

ELK 04-675          New Mexico Private Land & Gila Wilderness

Trophy elk hunting in New Mexico and Arizona is the best in the Rockies!  This outfitter offers some of the finest private ranch and wilderness elk hunts available today.  The genetics and quality of bulls found within this outfitters region on the Arizona/New Mexico border will not be surpassed anywhere!  Exclusive private ranches, remote wilderness camps, low hunting pressure and thriving elk populations all contribute to incredible success year after year.  Hunter success generally averages around 80% with 90-95% shooting opportunities on 300 B&C bulls and up!!  Many of the top bulls in recent years have measured 370 B&C+ points, including the top bull of the 2001 season...419 B&C net, a 378 B&C bull from the 2002 season and a 389 P&Y from the 2003 season!!!
